A Migration, indeed.� On first listen to Brooklyn-based Takka Takka's new full-length, you may find yourself asking, "Where are the speaky, Lou Reed-esque vocals?� Where are the hand claps and the accoridan?� Where's that fun, 1970's Greenwich Village swagger?"� Sadly, all gone.� Or maybe not so sad.� Really, are we so attached to Velvet Underground-twinged indie rock that we'd begrudge Takka Takka their transformation?� I hope not, especially when it's good. ...

I�ve been having a bitch of a time trying to review Dr. Dog�s latest CD, Fate. Of minor annoyance, I don�t know Dr. Dog's music as well as I should, which doesn�t affect my ability to take a CD on its own merits, but it also doesn�t allow me to comment on how this album may or may not differ/show growth/display a downturn, etc.� On a much larger scale, I can�t for the life of me figure out why I don�t absolutely love this thing.�

The fourth LP, Satan's Circus, from Richard Fearless and Co. was released in the UK and beyond in 2004, but only made it over to we rebel colonists during the first part of this year. Why did it take so long to release the album over here? Was it merely transatlantic corporate roadblocks?

While I'm sure that the search for a new label since 2003's incredible Scorpio Rising was a factor, Drone Records released the CD here and internationally. I'll venture to guess that ...
