emember Nirvana , Mudhoney and Soundgarden ? Those great Seattle bands of old? Well, it's just too bad that they're gone forever and Seattle 's music scene doesn't have anything new and fresh to offer. Or does it?

The Divorce is a post-grunge outfit from Seattle with a powerful sound, lyrics that stand out and a beat that you'll love to shake your head to. Their debut album is entitled There Will Be Blood Tonight and is rumoured to come from a quote from the 80s movie The Princess Bride . Some fans agree that listening to this disc and watching the movie go hand in hand. Strange coincidences aside, There Will Be Blood Tonight is a good pop-rock record with catchy chords, angstful lyrics, and the hip-garage sound that almost everyone seems to be playing.

The first song on the ten song disc is called ?The Man Moan?. It starts off with a little distortion and then it just bursts right in to a good rocking garage song. Nothing too complicated here, the song carries well, and promises to easily translate into a good live opener. ?Catch You Disappointed? is the second track and the first single. Something seems very 80s-ish about this song. Maybe it's the simplicity, or the over emphasized lyrics that Shane Berry seems to spit out at you, but something about it makes it a power-pop hit waiting to happen. ?I tried so hard, to get every single word out/ that my tongue carved little scars, in the roof of my mouth?. This and some other lyrical content may make you want to put them into the ?emo? category?.but don't. They are two steps from the All-American Rejects and three from Lit, but somehow aren't as annoying as either. In fact, they have a very lovable sound that could even win over a scenester or two.

This band takes a lot from other bands and formed their own genuine sound. These guys really enjoy playing and it shows the whole album through. My favorite song, ?Save It For The Judge? starts ?Tonight is on, so grab your loaded guns?. I think it could be the catchiest song on the CD, but every time I listen to ?There will be Blood Tonight? I think that of a different song.

This disc will not be your favorite of the year, nor is it a masterpiece, but if you like to sing a long and play air drums, this CD will give you as much enjoyment as anything out there.
