October 16 and 18 .::. Troubled Hubble
Galaxy Hut and DC9
Free and $6

Okay so Troubled Hubble aren't exactly from Omaha, but they are longtime friends and tourmates with Omaha performer The Show Is The Rainbow and have family ties to the River City. The Chicago band have hit the road and are once again playing two shows in the DC metro area: Saturday at the Galaxy Hut and Monday at DC9. Troubled Hubble have been longtime friends of Arlington's Galaxy Hut - a most excellent venue that offers free music three nights a week, local art on display, and one of the best selections of brews on tap in the DC area. If you've never been to the Hut, remember these two things: get there early if you want to sit (capacity is somewhere around 50) and bring earplugs. You might not need them, but it's always a good idea in such a small venue. These guys pack a dizzying amount of energy into their shows.

For a young band, they've got a lot to show for themselves including multiple appearances at the CMJ Music Marathon and South By Southwest Music Festival, as well as five independent releases. They recently spent a month recording their next full-length album with Jason Caddell of the former Dismemberment Plan at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington. You can pick up their new EP A Happy Day Went Off The Cliff at the shows this weekend. In the meantime, check out their friendly website for a taste of Troubled Hubble's unconventional and incredibly catchy music.
